As it becomes more difficult for Ms. Annie to read or talk using her 'GrannyPad', this private messaging app is a way to keep her in the loop with what's going on in our lives, and allows friends and relatives to show their love for Ms. Annie.

How it works

• Select VOICE MESSAGE or TEXT MESSAGE.
• Type your name and subject.
• Then type your text message, or record your voice message.
• Select LISTEN to hear your message.
• Select SEND when you're ready to send your message.
• Your message is delivered to the AnnieBot digital assistant.
• Text messages are read by the AnnieBot computer voice.

Things to Consider

• The MESSAGE HISTORY will display messages sent from this device, and display a message receipt 👵🏾 if Ms. Annie has heard your message.
• Voice messages are limited to 30 seconds.
• Ms. Annie's caregivers may hear the messages, so your messages should not be private or confidential.

• Sometimes, spelling words phonetically will trick the computer voice into sounding more natural.
• Insert commas (,) or periods (.) to add short or long pauses to the computer voice.
• On most devices, you can LISTEN to your message before sending it.
• The computer voice Ms. Annie hears may be different than the voice you hear on your device.
• The MESSAGE HISTORY will display messages sent from your device.
• Click the refresh symbol 🔄 to check if your messages have been heard. If so, the ??? will change to 👵🏾.
